The Complete Epic — 17-Day Grand Trek: From The Fann Mountains to The Pamirs
S&P Travel invites you to an unparalleled 17-day cultural and physical quest rooted in history, linking the heritage of Samarkand to the vitality of Dushanbe. This odyssey begins with a majestic prelude: eight days of intense trekking in the Fann Mountains, a kingdom sculpted by verticality. The route leads you from Lake Chukurak to the blue symphony of the Kulikalon and Alauddin Lakes, where light is the only law. You will conquer demanding passes (up to 4200 m), contemplate the overwhelming Chimtarga Peak, before plunging into the sublime isolation of the Great Allo Lakes and the legendary Zindon Valley. After a gentle descent to Vorou village, where Tajik hospitality offers comfort, the road leads you back to Dushanbe for a well-deserved rest, marking the end of this first alpine phase.
The true journey to the Roof of the World then opens up. S&P Travel orchestrates a smooth transition to the 4x4 circuit, immersing you in Tajikistan's historical heart via Nurek and the Darvaz region, the secret gateway to the Pamir Mountains. After a historic stop at Kalai-Khumb, the adventure intensifies by venturing into the Bartang Valley. You follow the powerful Panj River to Rushon before the ultimate immersion: the Bartang Valley itself. Barchidiv village becomes your base, the place where Pamiri culture anchors you, preparing you for the greatest challenge of the trip.
The climax is the three-day trek to the forbidden legend of Lake Sarez, the "Sleeping Dragon." After conquering the Usoi Dam, this supreme reward reveals itself in its deep blue splendour. You will explore its shores and immensity by boat, absorbing the pure energy of this exclusive location. The return journey allows you to relive the epic, crossing the southern plains to find the elegance of Dushanbe, before a final look towards the Sogdian cradle at the Jarteppa border.
This unique itinerary is designed for travelers with good mountain experience and excellent physical condition (capable of covering an average of 12 km of walking per day), eager to live the geological history and cultural soul of a nation: this is S&P Travel's invitation to conquer Central Asia's most beautiful legend.
