The Secret Soul of Uzbekistan — 4-Day Immersion in The Nourata Mountains

S&P Travel invites you to leave the golden glow of the mythical cities—whether you depart from Samarkand or Bukhara—for a rare immersion into a living, natural heritage. Our four-day, three-night extension is an escape to the Nourata Mountains, a massif whose foothills once sheltered forgotten caravan stops. This tour is an intimate marriage between ancestral history and rural life, offering a unique window into the true soul of Uzbekistan.

Your journey begins with a transfer to the heart of the range. You are welcomed at the Hayat village homestay. After a local cuisine lunch, you embark on an invigorating walk to observe wild sheep, a prelude to the natural life surrounding you. The first night is spent in a calm and peaceful setting, surrounded by the hospitality of the host family.

On the second day, after breakfast, a hike leads you to the village of Ukhum. Along the way, you are rewarded with panoramic views of the plains and the distant Aydar Lake. You immerse yourself in the simple life of the villagers, contemplate the old village mosque, and above all, stand before history itself by observing 4,000-year-old petroglyphs. After lunch, you return to the comfort of your home base in Hayat for a second night.

The third day is dedicated to rewarding effort. After breakfast, you are transferred to the village of Sentob. From there, you set off on a demanding eight-hour hike to the sublime Lake Fozilman. This walk is a meditation amid untouched nature, the goal being to swim in the refreshing waters of the lake and appreciate the natural life established there. Returning to Sentob, you take advantage of the evening for a transfer to the shores of Lake Aydar (around 5 PM), an immense mirror at the edge of the desert. Dinner in Sentob offers you a final tasting of typical regional dishes before spending your final night at the homestay.

On the fourth and final day, after breakfast, S&P Travel ensures your transfer back to your final destination, whether it be Bukhara or Samarkand.

This extension with S&P Travel is more than just a walk; it is a reconnection. You leave not only with images of grandiose landscapes but also with the precious memory of the simple mountain life and the secret of the petroglyphs. Dare to immerse yourself in the secret soul of Uzbekistan.
